So, I was at the AAA All-Star game this past week, and I noticed that a player in the game (I wish I remember who now, but it was a bit hazy and their stats are no longer the same) had an OBP lower than their batting average at the time.

So, I recently ran into a case where I needed to import the Retrosheet Game Logs, and I'd figure I'd share the steps I used to do that.
First, download the .zip archives for the Game Logs (I used 1900-2013) from here:

An article on the Boston Globe mentioned that the current Red Sox outfield was on pace to be the least productive in the 162 game era, so I decided to investigate this for myself.
First things first, let's take a look at the Lahman database for the BA and OPS (as well as SLG and OBP) for the Red Sox since 1961 (beginning of the 162 game era):

The blog takes its name from a play that doesn't (shouldn't - Segura thrown out trying to re-steal second base) exist, as well as the idea of using all information available to gain the slightest edge (even if it just gets you first base).
