Well, I decided to finally register for the Penetration Testing with Kali (PWK) course and the subsequent OSCP certification exam.

This week will be about executing shellcode with Python, so that I can cover another Python script from my tools collection, as well as keep up the variety of posts.
So as it turns out, my work requires the Security+ certification to get an admin account on some of our networks. I knocked it out on Friday without much studying (just some into access controls since I had forgotten all about them), and it was definitely a reasonable exam. There were about 5 “hands-on” questions …
The next VM that I decided to tackle was Brainpan 1 by superkojiman, as Brainpan 3 just came out. First things first, I ran netdiscover to get the IP of the target machine.
Another weekend away (this time in Germany), so no post again. I’m hoping to get away from the boot2roots again soon, but still trying to find some decent scripts or other things to write about.
